This week I collaborated with off hand glass blower Chris Johnson in Davenport, Calif. The studio is right on the California coast at the Lundberg studio glass facility. Lundberg Studio's has been making world class glass art for 46 years. The weather was giving us a wild rainstorm. The rain was coming in sideways. The old tin roof was being tested. I was hugging the glass furnace to keep warm. Once the glory hole was fired up to temperature work started and we got up and running. We started out working on a design we developed two years ago. Our goal for this session is to create mixed media artifact spears four to five feet long. The spear heads are glass, handles turned wood with hand forged steel tynes. Once complete the spear is adorned with beadwork. They are hung on wall mounts we hand forge. I hope they come out as amazing as the last two we created for the Scottsdale Museum Show two years ago. #glassblowers #studioglassblower#lampwork#studioglass#hotglass
